We currently have a Bluetick puppy who has just turned one year old. My story though, is about our previous 4 legged loved ones, Dusty (a golden mix) and Albert (English shorthair cat). Our loved ones never want to leave us, and when that time comes, we have always had to help them along. Albert was diabetic for over 15 years, and had many, many visits to the Vet's office, so had no real love of being there. He developed a fast growing lung/heart cancer, and when it was time for his journey, they allowed us to help him along outside, where the birds were singing, and with in the grass, and both his daddy and myself at his side. That was in 2011, and we still miss him. Dusty Rose was getting old, and arthritic, but had her knee replaced which bought her more time. At almost 16 years old though, she finally could not get up, and began to spasm out. We called and made her arrangements, and they allowed us to help her along her journey in the back of our Subaru, with her favorite music, (bluegrass) playing, and of course, mama and daddy holding her. The Vet's at Kiln Creek not only help you with their lives, they help you with their journey in the most compassionate way I have ever encountered. We bring Bleu there now, and look forward to a very long life.
